A Venezuelan man, Jorge Torres-Perez, 29, has been charged in Colorado with assaulting a federal officer, threatening to assault or kill a federal officer, and destroying government property. The charges were announced by the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Colorado.

Authorities state that Torres-Perez was encountered by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Enforcement Removal Operations (ICE/ERO) in December 2025 after his release from the El Paso County Jail in Colorado Springs. Despite attempts by officers to calm him, he allegedly struck the vehicle’s doors and windows, damaged interior panels and wiring, continued making threats, and spat on officers. The estimated damage to the government vehicle is $3,898.62.
