SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Colorado has announced that Waneka Rosebud Cornpeach, 42, from Fort Duchesne, Utah, has pled guilty to felony charges of assault with a dangerous weapon and assault resulting in serious bodily injury within Indian Country.

The plea agreement states that on July 17, 2022, Cornpeach fired her weapon at two victims, causing serious injuries to both.

Cornpeach has been remanded and is scheduled for sentencing on November 17, 2025.

The investigation was conducted by the FBI’s Salt Lake City Field Office. Assistant United States Attorney Brian Dunn from the District of Colorado is prosecuting the case in the United States District Court for the District of Utah.
