A Fort Collins resident, Isaac Meraz, 21, has been charged with bank robbery involving forced accompaniment. The United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Colorado announced the charges.

The criminal complaint details that on May 27, 2025, around 2:00 p.m., Meraz entered Ent Credit Union on Drake Road in Fort Collins. Disguised with a full rubber mask and fake hair, he claimed to be there for an “audit.” He allegedly used what appeared to be a handgun to compel three employees to accompany him to the vault. One employee handed over money from the vault under duress. While fleeing, Meraz dropped some money and the apparent firearm, which was later identified as a realistic-looking BB gun. Authorities arrested him shortly after outside the credit union.

Meraz made his initial court appearance on May 30 before U.S. Magistrate Judge Cyrus Y. Chung.

The charges remain allegations until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

The Federal Bureau of Investigations Denver Field Office and Fort Collins Police Services are investigating the case. Assistant United States Attorney Brian Dunn is handling the prosecution.
