4th Judicial District seeks applicants for public administrator role

The 4th Judicial District, covering El Paso and Teller counties, is seeking applications for the position of public administrator. The public administrator is a private individual appointed by the Chief Judge to manage the assets of certain living individuals through conservatorship and to handle the estates of deceased persons when no one else is able or willing to do so.

According to the announcement, “A public administrator is not an employee of any city, county, or state government entity or agency, including the appointing district.”

Applicants must be qualified electors over 21 years old and either reside in or have a principal place of business within the 4th Judicial District. Interested individuals are required to submit their applications by email to Scott Sosebee, court executive for the 4th Judicial District. Applications should include a cover letter describing qualifications, a resume, and three professional references. The deadline for submissions is January 23, 2026 at 5 p.m.
